Why your AI video looks wrong, and how to fix it

Most bad AI clips have one of a few causes, and each has a quick fix. Change one thing at a time, and test with short clips so it costs less.

The product warps or changes

  • Start from a product photo and add “the product stays exactly as in the photo”.
  • Use a slower camera move and a shorter clip.
  • Try Kling 3.0 Pro for consistent products across shots.

Nothing happens, or too much happens

  • Too still: describe the motion: “steam rises”, “fabric moves in the breeze”, “slow push-in”.
  • Too busy: one action and one camera move per clip.

Text in the video is wrong

AI video models are poor at writing words. Leave text out of the prompt and add it in Finish, where it is sharp and spelled exactly as you type it.

Hands, faces and people

Keep hands simple and actions small. For a person who must look the same in several shots, use Kling 3.0 Pro. See “Prompts for people and characters”.

Wrong shape or cropped subject

Choose the shape before you create, and use a photo in the same shape. To change the shape afterwards, use Reframe in Edit video: AI fills in the new area.

Still not right?

Try the same prompt with another model: each is better at different things. Failed videos cost nothing, and a 5-second test keeps experiments cheap.

Questions

Why does AI video get text wrong?

Video models draw letters as shapes and often misspell them. Add text afterwards as an overlay, for example in SupaSwirl's Finish, so it is sharp and correct.

Why does my product look different in the AI video?

Without a reference the model imagines the product. Start from a product photo, keep the clip short and the camera slow, and say the product must stay exactly as in the photo.
