We tested 4 AI lip-sync models for UGC ads

Talking-head UGC ads need a model that moves the mouth to the words and keeps the product in the shot. We gave four models the same character photo and the same 7-second voice-over and compared what came back.

How we tested

  • One AI-made character photo: a woman holding a small serum bottle in a bright bathroom.
  • One voice-over of about 7 seconds, made with ElevenLabs.
  • The same photo and voice for OmniHuman 1.5, VEED Fabric 1.0 and FlashTalk. Veo 3.1 Lite got the photo and the spoken line in its prompt, because it makes its own sound.

Results

  • OmniHuman 1.5: the most expressive. She leans in and smiles, the mouth follows the words, the bottle stays in her hand. Took about 3 minutes.
  • VEED Fabric 1.0: calm and natural, good lip-sync, the product always visible. Finished in 52 seconds.
  • FlashTalk: the cheapest, but the video came back at 448 by 768 pixels, and the bottle disappeared from her hand near the end. Took about 8 minutes.
  • Veo 3.1 Lite: the most natural acting (she points at her cheek like a real creator), but the model picks its own voice, so you cannot use the voice you chose.

What we chose

SupaSwirl's UGC video uses VEED Fabric 1.0 as Standard (5 credits a second) and OmniHuman 1.5 as Premium (9 credits a second), plus the voice. We did not add FlashTalk because of the quality. Both clips are on the models page with sound.

Tips for a good talking video

  • Use a photo of one person facing the camera, with the face clearly visible.
  • If they hold a product, keep it near the face and fully in the picture.
  • Write the script the way people talk, with a hook in the first sentence.
  • Only use people who agreed, AI people, or characters you own.

Questions

What is the best AI lip-sync model for UGC ads?

In our test, OmniHuman 1.5 gave the most lifelike and expressive result, and VEED Fabric 1.0 was the best balance of quality and speed, finishing in under a minute.

Can AI make a person in a photo say my script?

Yes. A lip-sync model takes one photo and a voice-over and moves the mouth to the words. In SupaSwirl you write the script, pick an AI voice, and captions are added for free.

Why did FlashTalk not make the cut?

In our test its video came back at 448 by 768 pixels and the product disappeared from the person's hand near the end.
