UGC ad script templates with timings
A UGC ad works when it sounds like a real person talking to a friend. These five scripts follow the shapes that work in creator ads. Replace the words in brackets with your product.
How long a script should be
- People speak about 13 to 15 characters a second in a relaxed voice.
- 15 seconds: about 200 characters, 30 to 40 words.
- 30 seconds: about 400 characters, 60 to 80 words.
- Leave a second at the end for the call to action to land.
1. Honest review (about 15 s)
- Script
- Okay, honest review. I've used [product] every day for two weeks, and I'm actually impressed. It [main benefit]. Would I buy it again? Yes, already did.
2. Problem and fix (about 15 s)
- Script
- If you're tired of [problem], listen. I tried everything until I found [product]. Now it takes me [short time]. Seriously, check the link.
3. Unboxing (about 12 s)
- Script
- It just arrived! Look at this packaging. First impressions: it feels really premium. Let me show you how it works.
4. Before and after (about 15 s)
- Script
- This was me before [product]: [the problem]. Two weeks later? [the result]. I didn't think it would work this well. Link's below.
5. Three reasons (about 20 s)
- Script
- Three reasons I switched to [product]. One: [benefit]. Two: [benefit]. Three: it's [price or offer]. Honestly, wish I'd found it sooner.
Make it sound real
- Use contractions and short sentences.
- Say numbers the way people say them: "nine ninety", not "$9.90".
- Keep one product claim you can stand behind; ad platforms reject false claims.
- Read it aloud once. If you run out of breath, cut a sentence.
Questions
How long should a UGC ad script be?
For a 15-second ad, about 30 to 40 words or 200 characters. For 30 seconds, about 60 to 80 words.
What is a good hook for a UGC ad?
A first sentence that names a problem or a surprise, such as "If you're tired of [problem], listen" or "Okay, honest review". It should make the viewer stay for the next sentence.
Can AI say my UGC script for me?
Yes. In SupaSwirl's UGC video, a character photo says your script in an AI voice with lip-sync, and word-by-word captions are added automatically.
